The request of designing and producing an ice bucket for Stolichnaya Vodka came from Velier - Genoa, an Italian import/ export company of premium spirits. Stolichnaya came out with a new UV reacting label (applied on the limited “Stolichnaya Night Edition”), but they didn’t have any showcase with a proper lightsource to use during events and parties in clubs. We did some studies about the lighting (positioning, intensity, sources, timing, etc...) and we presented three different options. The resulting one is the perfect compromise between lighting power, weight, aesthetic, costs, production time and function. The base contains a 12v 2000mAh lithium rechargeable battery pack that assures 6 hours of continue illumination. The entire structure is made by aluminum, painted in shiny white and with a branded base. A waterproof UV LED stripe is applied on a upper ring. A plexiglass bowl can be easily fixed at the base in order to store the ice and up to three Stolichnaya Vodka bottles. The ice bucket has been produced in 150 pieces for the distribution all over Italy.
